Four former Yellow terminals have been reopened by their new owners.
AAA Cooper Transportation and Midwest Motor Express, Inc., both part of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings, Inc., recently announced on Linkedin the expansion of their network with four new service center openings. They are located in:
- Jackson, Michigan
- Dayton, Ohio
- Athens, Georgia
- Everett, Washington
“We look forward to providing transportation needs with superior service and a great customer experience in these markets,” the companies said in the Linkedin post. “Also, we want to thank our amazing team who worked to launch these new facilities.”
Dothan, Alabama-based AAA Cooper Transportation has 2,975 power units and 3,227 drivers according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Midwest Motor Express, which is based in Bismarck, North Dakota, has 522 power units and 428 drivers.
The four locations are among the terminals Knight-Swift acquired following Yellow’s bankruptcy last August.
In all, Knight-Swift paid $51.3 million for 13 properties in the auction of Yellow’s real estate. Knight-Swift also spent $2.2 million for 10 leases on other sites.
Yellow ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy after protracted financial difficulties and problems reaching an agreement with the Teamsters this time last year.
