The president and CEO of a leading organization for women in the trucking industry has stepped down, citing a “need to focus on family matters.”
The Women In Trucking Association Thursday announced that Jennifer Hedrick has stepped down as president and CEO, effective Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Hedrick has served as president and CEO since January of 2023, overseeing the association’s operations, programs, events, and member engagement initiatives.

The WIT Board of Directors will direct the search for the association’s next president and CEO. Lana Nichols, WIT’s vice president, will serve as the interim president and CEO. Additional information regarding the leadership transition will be shared as it becomes available.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we thank Jennifer for her service to the association and wish her success in her future endeavors,” said Jennifer Plumlee, WIT’s chair of the board of directors and vice president, managed logistics with J.B. Hunt Transport Services.
Plumlee emphasized that continuity remains important to the association’s success through a seasoned staff that has nearly 50 years collective experience with WIT, an experienced board of directors as well as the support of its partner companies.
