The Trucks for Change (T4C) network helped Canadian charities save more than $150,000 in transportation costs in 2024, allowing them to redirect funds toward their programs and services, according to T4C’s newly released 2024 Impact Report.
With the support of 44 transportation partners and 15 sponsors, the network delivered more than 2.5 million pounds of freight to 125 unique food banks and charities across the country, according to the report.

“This savings to their bottom line meant more disadvantaged Canadian families received the support they need,” said Betsy Sharples, executive director of Trucks for Change, in a news release. “Our network moved a wide variety of goods for Canadian charities, from wheelchairs, books, toys, and clothing, to emergency supplies and building materials – but mostly food this year- reflecting the state of food insecurity in our country at this time.”
T4C delivered 1.4 million meals to food-insecure families, with 1.2 million meals distributed through a partnership with The For Good Foundation to 45 food banks across Canada. T4C’s participation in the After the Bell program also supported families by delivering nearly 113,000 food packs to 94 food banks, ensuring 14,000 children had access to food during summer breaks when school meal programs were unavailable. Meanwhile, the network’s Daily Bread Food Sort Challenge brought together 70 volunteers from its carriers and sponsors to package 21,600 meals in three hours.

Beyond food, T4C transported other essentials, supporting projects like Habitat for Humanity home builds in Ontario and the distribution of mobility aids to First Nations communities in Ontario, British Columbia, and other provinces. The organization also responded to emergency situations, such as wildfire relief in Manitoba and Jasper, Alta., delivering bottled water to evacuees and first responders. Water was also delivered to the homeless in the Greater Toronto Area during the summer.
In April, T4C also participated in events like Truck World, raising over $2,300 in food and funds for local food banks.
More details on T4C network activity and impact can be found in the 2024 Impact report.
