No two ways about it, 2024 has been an arduous year for the U.S. trucking industry.
Many carriers and their drivers had to contend with both a reduced amount of freight, and the constant threat of thieves preying on the cargo they were moving. There were disasters — both natural and man-made — that caused navigational problems for drivers. And, there were numerous mergers and acquisitions, but it was the numerous carrier bankruptcies that had the greatest impact on truckers.
But, through it all, there were more than a few bright spots.
As always, the trucking industry honored its best drivers, and recognized its heroes.
