Trucking HR Canada (THRC) is gearing up for a busy spring with a lineup of events focused on advancing workforce development and equity in the trucking industry.
On April 30, THRC, in partnership with the Western provincial trucking associations, will host Western Women with Drive (WWWD) at the Calgary Airport Marriott Hotel. The conference will feature industry leaders, researchers, and business executives sharing strategies to attract and retain more women in the trucking and logistics sector.

Speakers include psychologist Dr. Jody Carrington, who will deliver the keynote, and Angela Champ, a morning kick-off speaker presenting strategies for attracting more women to the industry. The event will also recognize organizations signing on to the Women’s Leadership Accord and those earning a certificate of excellence for gender inclusion efforts. WWWD attendees will have the chance to book a time for a complimentary professional headshot.
Webinar series
Leading up to Western Women with Drive, THRC will also host a series of webinars on key workforce topics throughout March and April, from noon until 1 p.m. ET on Wednesdays.
On March 26, Employment and Social Development Canada will present a session on driver misclassification. A Women’s Leadership Accord workshop will be held on April 2, offering employers a chance to learn about THRC’s initiative to support gender inclusion in trucking. On April 9, THRC will cover requirements under the Legislated Employment Equity Program, while an April 16 session will focus on accessibility plan reporting under the Accessible Canada Act, offering simultaneous English and French translation.
Rounding out the series, THRC will host an April 23 session exclusively for Top Fleet Employer (TFE) recipients, providing strategies on how to maximize their designation for recruitment and brand recognition.
