TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Long hours behind the wheel can take a toll on your body and mind. Eat a balanced diet, stay hydrated, and get light movement in each day, even if it’s a quick stretch or a walk around your truck. Most importantly, aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep.
PLAN AHEAD
Smart route planning helps avoid weather delays, high-crime areas, construction, and heavy traffic. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, weather-related crashes account for nearly 21% of all vehicle accidents. Make a habit of checking the forecast and traffic before driving.
USE GPS WISELY
Use a truck-specific GPS to help navigate truck-safe routes and avoid low-clearance bridges, tunnels, or restricted roads. However, don’t rely on GPS alone, get familiar with your route ahead of time, watch for road signs, and stay alert for new exits or detours that may not appear on your GPS. Technology is helpful, but it’s not perfect.
