Simard Suspensions announced it’s constructing a new manufacturing plant in the Saint-Urbain industrial park in the Charlevoix region of Quebec.
Construction on the $10-million plant will begin later this year, with commissioning scheduled for early 2026, the company announced. The plant will be 25,000 sq.-ft. and located on Saint-Laurent Road.
Simard says the plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including a laser cutting table, second welding robot and modern machining center. It will also address the obsolescence of existing equipment and reduce disaster risks, the company said in a release.
“We are proud to launch this construction project, which marks an important step in the evolution of Simard Suspensions,” said David Tremblay, CEO. “This new plant will not only allow us to increase our production capacity, but also strengthen our commitment to innovation and quality.”
The company is currently in the process of finalizing technical analyses, permit applications, architectural plans, calls for tenders for contractors, and equipment acquisition.
