The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) is now accepting nominations for two of its most prestigious driver honors: the 2025 Volvo Trucks Canada-OTA Driver of the Year Award and the OTA-Bridgestone Truck Hero Award.
Both awards recognize truck drivers in Ontario who demonstrate exceptional professionalism, community leadership, and commitment to safety. OTA is calling on fleets to nominate drivers who not only operate collision-free, but also go above and beyond — whether during a crisis, through acts of heroism, or by serving as community role models and mentors.
“There is no better way to celebrate our great industry than showcasing the best truck drivers and human beings OTA has to offer,” the association said in a news release.

The Driver of the Year Award is presented to a professional transport driver with a proven track record of safe driving and exemplary conduct both on and off the road. The recipient will receive a keepsake plaque, a cash award courtesy of Volvo Trucks Canada, and a trip to the OTA Convention in Toronto this November for a formal recognition ceremony. The winner will also be featured in a video biography and will be eligible for the Canadian Trucking Alliance’s (CTA) 2026 national Driver of the Year contest.
