
The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) elected its board of directors for the 2025-2026 term during its annual general meeting last week in Winnipeg.
The board includes Brent Arnold (Arnold Bros. Transport), Carla Kaneski (Arnold Bros. Transport), John Mauseth (Beaver Truck Centre), Michelle Magdic (BFL Canada Risk and Insurance Services), Mark Pawlik (TF Energy Solutions/Big Freight Systems), Steve Zokvic (Bison Transport), Lance Schmitke (Canadian National Transportation), Gilles Durand (Du-Vall Transport), Ryan Johnston (Gardewine), Darrin Fiske (Kleysen Group), Trent Siemens (Kleysen Group), John Curcio (Manitoulin Transport), Jake Peters (New Hope Transport), Dale Derksen (OneCall Logistics), Thomas Mckee (Payne Transportation), Pauline Wiebe Peters (Payne Transportation), Arina Johnson (Penner International), Jay Dejaeger (Portage Transport), Kurt Heinrichs (Rosenau Transport), Rachelle Baker (Searcy Trucking), Derek Quinn (Steve’s Livestock Transport), Jeremy Messner (Steve’s Livestock Transport), Doug Bowes (Tandet Logistics), Real Tetrault (Tetrault Transport), Derek Lachaine (TransX Group of Companies), Peter McDonald (TransX Group of Companies), Chris Jones (Trappers Transport), Dustin Omeniuk (Trappers Transport), Dave Tyrchniewicz (Turk Enterprises), and Ryan Mitchell (Wildwood Transport).

Nominated to the executive committee are President Pauline Wiebe Peters, first vice-president Brent Arnold, second vice-president Ryan Mitchell, and members at large Trent Siemens, Peter McDonald, and Rachelle Baker. Past president Jason Dubois and MTA executive director Aaron Dolyniuk round out the executive committee.
Wiebe Peters noted the challenges currently faced by the industry, including lack of rest areas, interprovincial trade barriers, and labor trafficking and immigration abuse in the industry, according to a news release.
Wiebe Peters announced an initial donation of $25,000 to The Joy Smith Foundation for an educational campaign designed to raise awareness about human trafficking. She added that the MTA will match donations from MTA member companies, up to an additional $25,000 to be used for the campaign.
