Yet another massive oversize load will hit the Ohio highways yet this week.
The Ohio Department of Transportation said Edwards Moving & Rigging will move a tank that is 17’ tall, 13’ 7” wide, 196’ long and weighing 415,416 pounds at the end of the week.
ODOT said the haul begins Friday at about 8:15 a.m. and follows this route:
- Originates in Adams County, travels through Scioto, Pike, and Ross ccounties
- The load will pull out at approximately 8:15 a.m., just after the last bus transporting students to Manchester Local Schools passes the site.
- The load is expected to cross over and travel the wrong way in the U.S. Route 52 Westbound lanes just before the junction of SR 239 and US Route 52.
- The load will travel North on the SR 239 Southbound ramp toward SR 73/SR 852
- It will then travel South in the Northbound lanes of SR 73/SR 852 to US Route 52
- Then it will head East in the Westbound lanes on US Route 52 to US Route 23 in Portsmouth
- Travel North on US Route 23 in the Northbound lanes to the intersection of Kinneys Lane and Argonne Road where it will cross over into the Northbound lanes toward the Village of Piketon
- Continue to travel North on US Route 23 to Piketon where it will cross over into the Southbound lanes of US Route 23 at Market Street to maneuver around the traffic signals then cross back over into the Northbound lanes of US Route 23
- Travel North on US Route 23 to Chillicothe
- Take US Route 35 West to SR 104 North
- SR 104 North toward SR 207
Overnight Location: Ross County Fairgrounds
ODOT said, “If we make it to Ross County Fairgrounds by 1:30 p.m. on Day 1 (Friday) we may continue to Rickenbacker and cancel the move for Day 2 (Saturday)”
Saturday, (Day 2) Originates in Ross County, travels through Pickaway and Franklin Counties
- 7:30 a.m. Departure (approximate)
- Continue to travel North on SR 104 to SR 762 near Commercial Point
- Travel East on State Route 762 to Rickenbacker Parkway
Overnight Location: Rickenbacker
Sunday, (Day 3) – Originates in Franklin County; travels through Fairfield and Licking Counties
- 7:30 a.m. Departure (approximate)
- Travel North on Rickenbacker Parkway North to Alum Creek Drive
- Travel North on Alum Creek Drive to Rohr Road
- Travel East on Rohr Road to Opus Drive
- Travel North on Opus Drive to Green Pointe Drive South
- Travel North on Commerce Center Drive to Green Pointe Drive South
- Travel East on Green Point Drive South to Saltzgaber Road
- Travel South on Saltzgaber Road to State Route 317
- Travel North in the Southbound Lanes on State Route 317 past Groveport to Bixby Road East
- Travel East on Bixby Road to US Route 33
- Travel East in the Westbound lanes of US Route 33 to the Gender Road Southbound to US Route 33 Westbound ramp in Canal Winchester
- Travel the wrong way on the Gender Road Southbound to US Route 33 Westbound ramp
- Take State Route 674/Gender Road North to Brice Road
- Take Brice Road North to the intersection with Tussing Road/State Route 204 in Columbus
- Travel East on Tussing Road/State Route 204 East to State Route 310
- Travel North on State Route 310 to US Route 40 in Etna
- Travel West on US Route 40 to Mink Street
- Travel North on Mink Street to State Route 16
- Travel East on State Route 16 to State Route 310
- Travel North on State Route 310 to State Route 161
- Travel West on State Route 161 to Mink Street
- Travel North on Mink Street to Clover Valley Road NW
