LATHROP — A driver was injured after a freeway shooting and crash on Thursday.
Just before 1 p.m., an Amazon big rig was traveling northbound on I-5 between Highway 120 and E. Louise Avenue in Lathrop when it left the freeway, crashed into two other vehicles, and then crashed into a building.
The driver of the big rig, a 32-year-old North Carolina man, was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The Amazon truck driver that was shot on I-5N this afternoon is hospitalized. I’ve blurred this photo because it is graphic.
No one was in the car, now smashed, against a building yards from the freeway.

Amazon released a statement after learning that the incident.
“Our thoughts are with the driver and his family, and we’ll continue cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate the incident,” said an Amazon spokesperson.
