Briefly: Registration opens for Shell Rotella SuperRigs May 29-31 -

Registration is now open for the 43rd Annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs, which will be held at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia May 29–31.

Online registration is now officially open, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged, according to organizers. Drivers who register in advance will receive a designated parking spot and have the opportunity to select their preferred time for judging. Final judging schedules will be confirmed by Shell Rotella representatives.

Shell Rotella SuperRigs is the premier truck beauty competition for actively working trucks. Owner-operators from across the U.S. and Canada compete for more than $25,000 in cash and prizes, and the chance to be featured in the coveted Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar. Only 12 trucks will earn that honor for the 2026 edition.

Atalanta Motor Speedway is about 30 miles south of downtown Atlanta. The Atlanta metro area is easy to avoid when traveling to the Speedway, which is located on U.S. Highway 19 & 41 in Hampton, Ga. The address is 1500 Tara Place, Hampton, Ga 30228

SuperRigs isn’t just about showcasing incredible trucks, it’s also a celebration of the trucking community. The event is free to enter and designed to be fun for the whole family.

Southeastern celebrates service centers’ anniversaries

Southeastern Freight Lines, a provider of regional less-than-truckload transportation services, is celebrating 75 years of “Quality Without Question” service at its service centers in Columbia, South Carolina and Atlanta.

The Columbia service center was the first one Southeastern opened, marking the company’s entrance into the trucking and transportation industry in April 1950. Soon after, Southeastern began service to the Atlanta market, establishing its first key linehaul lane.

Both service centers have seen significant growth since their establishment. The Columbia service center began operations with only 14 trucks, 20 associates and a handful of dock doors. Since then, the Columbia facility has expanded to 102 dock doors and 139 associates.

Atlanta began operations with one associate and a flatbed trailer, which was utilized to cross dock freight. Now, it boasts 140 dock doors and 294 associates.

“Southeastern’s company culture has been the heartbeat of the Atlanta service center since its establishment, setting us apart as a Carrier of Choice,” said Chris Rich, Atlanta’s service center manager. “The positive environment within our service center attracts and retains top-tier associates, which is fundamental to our success. Our dedicated leaders and associates are passionate about furthering Southeastern’s mission and are excited to continue serving our customers and community well into the future.”

To celebrate this significant milestone, the Atlanta service center is recognizing two pickup and delivery drivers, Perryman Baker and Larry Spinks. Baker, the facility’s longest-serving current associate, is approaching five decades of service, while Spinks retired in 2024 after an impressive 54-year career.

Additionally, the Columbia service center is honoring linehaul driver Michael Crapps – an associate who has worked at the facility for over 50 years – for his commitment to delivering quality service.
