Peterbilt celebrated the production of the 750,000th truck assembled at its Denton, Texas manufacturing facility. The company said in a statement that this milestone truck, a Model 579, “represents Peterbilt’s dedication to excellence in manufacturing and the commitment of its workforce to maintain superior production quality since the facility opened in 1980.”
Peterbilt presented TMC Transportation, Inc. with the keys to the Model 579 at the Denton plant on Nov. 14. TMC, based in Des Moines, Iowa, is the largest privately held flatbed carrier in the nation and runs a 100% Peterbilt fleet.
“TMC demands excellence when it comes to our equipment. Peterbilt trucks are meticulously specified for high performance and driver comfort to meet that demand,” said Jason Webb, TMC Transportation executive vice president, asset management. “It’s a great honor to receive this Model 579 and 750,000th truck assembled at the Denton manufacturing plant, and we celebrate this significant milestone with Peterbilt and Allstate Peterbilt Dealer Group, our outstanding partner.”
Truckstop adds load board notifications
Truckstop recently introduced Load Alert Notifications, a new feature accessible on the Truckstop Go mobile app for customers with a Load Board Pro subscription. With Load Alert Notifications, carriers and brokers can access legitimate freight and trusted capacity more quickly and at scale.
Load Alert Notifications proactively delivers the freshest, high-paying loads that match the carriers’ preferences right to their phone when the loads are live in the marketplace.
“We have been incredibly pleased by the value Load Alert Notifications — a powerful new feature that lets highly relevant loads come to you — has delivered to our beta users and look forward to the impact it will have on our entire carrier and broker network,” said Julia Laurin, chief product officer at Truckstop. “Our carrier customers will get load alerts even when they’re not in the app, so they can be the first to access the highest quality, relevant loads.”
While a feature for carriers, Load Alert Notifications also provides value to the company’s broker customers by increasing the speed to source a legitimate, quality truck and expanding their reach and opportunity to build capacity and buying power.

ATA praises CT for dropping ban on gas-powered vehicles
The American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear recently praised Connecticut’s withdrawal of a plan to ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles by 2035.
“The tide is turning as state officials across the country wake up to the reality that California’s electric-truck mandates are bad policy that carry serious political consequences,” said Spear. “Technically unachievable standards and unrealistic timelines that set the trucking industry and consumers up for failure are not how we achieve our shared goal of further reducing emissions.
“As Connecticut, North Carolina, and Maine have realized, blindly following California’s sure-to-fail approach is not the only option. Ensuring the necessary infrastructure is in place and allowing for a range of technological solutions to prevail, rather than one-size-fits-all mandates, is how we succeed together on the road to zero emissions.
“We’ll continue to work with EPA on a uniform, national standard that accounts for the operational realities of the trucking industry and provides a realistic path forward for the nation.”
