The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has re-issued a temporary waiver allowing interstate holders of commercial driver’s licenses and commercial learners permits and motor carriers, to use a paper copy of their Medical Examiner’s Certificate as proof of medical certification for up to 60 days after issuance.
The extension was announced Jan. 11 and is effective through April 10.
The FMCSA said the waiver helps drivers and carriers during the transition to electronic medical certification under the National Registry II (NRII) rule.
