Three major trucking events are scheduled for early next month.
On tap are:
East Coast Truckers Jamboree
In addition to hosting a truck show with more than 400 entries, the jamboree, hosts several musical performances by Blackwater Band and Love Tribe and a truck light show.
Large Cars & Guitars Truck Show
As the name makes clear, this show is all about music and big fancy trucks. But there’s more. This shows also is a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen breast cancer research and the Speedway Children’s Charities.
The show is expected to draw more than 150 trucks and includes the Riley Wyatt Convoy for Hope.
The guitars portion of the event includes performances by:
- trucker and singer-songwriter Paul Marhoffer
- Ruby Leigh
- Elvie Shane
- a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band
- Emi Sunshine
- trucker and singer-songwriter Tony Justice
- headliner actor and singer John Schneider
The show was created and organized by Justice after his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Make-A-Wish Mother’s Day Truck Convoy
Like the show in Bristol, this convoy in southeast Pennsylvania raises funds for a charity. Proceeds from the event helps the Make-A-Wish of Philadelphia, Delaware and Susquehanna Valley make wishes come true for children suffering debilitating diseases.
Last year, 426 trucks of all shapes and sizes participated in the convoy. Some 33 children helped by Make-A-Wish rode along as the participating truckers helped raise $461,386 for the charity.
In addition to the convoy, the event features music, family-friendly games, and an auction.
