IT’S SOMETHING THAT IS HARD FOR PEOPLE TO WRAP THEIR MINDS AROUND. I MEAN, FOR THE AVERAGE DRIVER, THEY’D HAVE TO GET UP EVERY DAY AND TAKE A HUNDRED MILE ROAD TRIP FOR 136 YEARS, DEAN HAS BEEN DRIVING FOR WARNER FOR 35 YEARS. THIS WAS SOMETHING HE NEVER IMAGINED. I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET 5 MILLION. ONLY THE SECOND DRIVER IN THE COMPANY’S HISTORY TO REACH THIS MILESTONE. DEAN SAYS THE SUPPORT FROM HIS FAMILY, COWORKERS AND THE COMPANY’S DEDICATION TO SAFE DRIVING WERE KEY. IT’S WORTH CELEBRATING. IT IS QUITE THE ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR WYNOT TO HAVE A SUPPORTING COMPANY OVER THESE YEARS WHERE SAFETY IS DRIVING FORCE. THOSE THAT KNOW HIM BEST NOT SURPRISED. An Omaha truck driver for Werner celebrated a huge milestone Thursday.Tim Dean has become one of two drivers in the company to achieve 5 million accident-free miles.Professional driver Charley Endorf is the only other person to make that achievement.”I never would have thought I was going to get 5 million,” said Dean.The 5-million-mile mark without an accident is a rare occurrence, and the average professional truck driver drives around 2 million miles throughout their career, according to the American Trucking Association.Driving 5 million miles is like driving around the world more than 200 times.So, to honor this big accomplishment, Werner had a ceremony at its headquarters with Dean’s family and colleagues.”Today, we have the pleasure of showcasing what greatness looks like in the daily work of the American professional driver. It’s the accomplishment of waking up every day, working hard and delivering goods that matter, both safely and on time, to those who have entrusted us to do so,” said Werner’s chairman, president, and CEO, Derek Leathers. “We commend Tim for his contributions to Werner and the industry as a whole and are incredibly proud of him for his unwavering commitment to safety over the last 35 years.
