• Ridwell will hold an informational event at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at the Loveland Public Library, 300 N. Adams Ave., to introduce its recycling program. The company is unveiling Ridwell Express, a mail-in opportunity to keep common hard-to-recycle household plastics out of landfills and incinerators (think grocery bags, bubble wrap, crinkly snack packaging and more). • Colorado Humanities & Center for the Book has announced the finalists in the 34th annual Colorado Book Awards. The finalists include Loveland author Sheri Cobb South in the Romance category for “Fairest of the Fayre,” published by Sonatina Press, and Fort Collins author Charlotte Hinger, a former Loveland resident, in the Historical Fiction category for “Mary’s Place,” published by University of Nebraska Press. Winners will be announced on July 26.
• Rocky Mountain National Park staff has announced a business opportunity to provide seasonal firewood sales to eastside campgrounds within the park. A prospectus outlines the opportunity to sell firewood, describes the contract, and provides details on how to submit a proposal. The contract requires the sale of bundled firewood at Moraine Park and Glacier Basin campgrounds and authorizes the sale of bundled firewood at Aspenglen and Longs Peak campgrounds. The contract allows either staffed or unstaffed (self-service) sales at each of these locations. The contract is expected to begin Jan. 1, 2026, and will be for a term of seven years. • HD of Loveland won a federal contract award for $326,715 from the Department of Health and Human Services Indian Health Service, Seattle, Wash., for roof replacement at Little Shell Tribal Health Clinic, Great Falls, Mont.
• Woodward of Fort Collins won a federal contract award for $50,583 from the Department of Defense Defense Logistics Agency, Columbus, Ohio, for circuit card assembly.
• Wright Wildlife Services of Fort Collins won a federal contract award for $37,500 from the Department of the Interior U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Falls Church, Va., for black-footed ferret veterinary services.
• Micron Technology Inc. of Boise, Idaho has been assigned a patent (No. US 12293099 B2, initially filed Jan. 18, 2023) developed by five inventors, including Bruce A. Liikanen of Berthoud, for “Open block family duration limited by time and temperature.”
• Nikola Corp. of Phoenix, Ariz., has been assigned a patent (No. US 12291112 B2, initially filed April 17, 2023) developed by six inventors, including Michael Corona of Loveland, for “High voltage battery conditioning for battery electric vehicle.”
