
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The man whose body was found Thursday on Interstate 69 has been identified. Meanwhile, officials are still trying to track down the driver of a semi accused of being involved in the fatal crash.
The Allen County Coroner identified the victim as Brad Anthony Nacio, 48, of Indianapolis.
Thursday morning around 3 a.m., his body was found on the highway, not far from the 319 mile-marker. Police determined he had been driving a semi near Union Chapel Road shortly before he died.
The coroner determined his cause of death was multiple blunt impact injuries from a crash. His death was ruled an accident.
Sgt. Adam Griffith told WANE 15 the sheriff’s department is working with Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Transportation, Michigan DOT and other authorities to look through traffic cameras and weigh station entries to find the other semi and driver involved.
Although the semi left the scene before police arrived, officers found parts of the vehicle nearby. Officers said they are looking for a Volvo semi tractor, red or maroon in color, with front passenger side damage and missing a mirror.
