20 per cent of new businesses fail during the first two years. 45 per cent during the first five years. 65 per cent during the first 10 years.
So how lucky are we to be sitting here, penning a celebration of 10 years in business? A decade of innovation – celebrating 10 years of MyTrucking.
No, not lucky. The luck element in the MyTrucking journey has been small in comparison to the long hours, the hard work, the countless drafts and redrafts, and the coffee… so much coffee. Like the wise words from Thomas Edison, we knew there was a better way to do things in the transport industry, and we found a way to do it.
From our small beginnings at the kitchen table, the MyTrucking team has grown to 22 people. We’re expanding our HQ in the Wairarapa and we’ve officially got a base in Australia. 2024 is quickly becoming our most exciting year yet with a planned roll out of more innovative features that will transform the MyTrucking experience.

To look back on the last 10 years and think about all the times we’ve sat there wondering if this new idea will work, or if we’re going up the garden path, it makes us incredibly proud of the journey so far. It’s been a lot of hard work from the team, but what we’ve built and have today is something I think lots of businesses strive for – a secure sense of who we are as a business, an unbeatable team and a constant hunger for more,” said Sara Orsborn.
General Manager Tony Warwood added, “When I started getting involved with MyTrucking, I knew it was heading places. To be involved in a high-growth business that’s constantly evolving is something I think a lot of people in business want a piece of. The capability in the team and the support of the customers will ensure its future success.”
Each year we normally reflect on some of the learnings from the previous year, what’s propelled us forward and what’s been a learning curve. But for our 10th anniversary blog, we simply want to say – thank you.
Absolutely none of what we have achieved with MyTrucking would have been possible without the support of our customers, partners, friends, family and wider industry.
The connections we’ve built in the last 10 years have been key to the ongoing innovation that we strive to create every day. The partnerships with the wider industry form the foundation of a product that serves its users to help them make their own businesses successful. The friends and family who put up with the long hours, the on-the-go chats and many truck yarns keep our cups full so we can go about our job and give it our all.
Here’s to you for all your support and to 10 years of truckin’ – we can’t wait to see what the next 10 will bring.
