There is still time for truckers to sound off when it comes to cargo theft, freight fraud and chameleon carriers.
In July, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance launched an anonymous survey seeking feedback from drivers and other industry stakeholders regarding cargo theft, freight fraud and chameleon carriers – all of which the group has identified as growing concerns within the industry.
“As cases of these complex problems become more prevalent in the CMV industry, CVSA is working to form the Alliance’s policy positions and identify solutions to these issues,” the Alliance said.
According to CVSA, responses to the survey will help to inform the group’s “recommendations and future strategies to address these issues across North America.”
Some of the questions asked in the brief survey include:
- Top three issues affecting the industry (cargo theft, financial theft, identity theft, cargo fraud, data/information theft or chameleon carriers)
- Steps you’re currently taking to prevent cargo theft, freight fraud and identity theft
- Ways to combat chameleon carriers
The original deadline to complete the survey was July 31. However, the group has now extended that deadline through Saturday, Aug. 8. Truckers can complete the online survey here. LL
