Deflector said its new aerodynamic wheel cover system can make it easier and more affordable for trucking fleets to deploy these fuel-saving devices.
The Minnesota-based company announced its Hubbub Aero Wheel Cover at the American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting in Nashville.

The covers attach to tubeless wheels using tool-free clips with molded urethane pads that grip the rim with minimal contact.
Reducing Complexity and Cost
The new Hubbub design focuses on reducing the complexity that can come with installing and managing aerodynamic devices.
Weighing 28 ounces, the cover is designed to fit any wheel of a given diameter — aluminum or steel, tractor or trailer — using a single part number.
The thin, durable wheel cover has a wire frame that allows the mounting of the wheel cover with adjustable straps on either an aluminum wheel or on a steel wheel.
The covers attach to tubeless wheels using tool-free clips with molded urethane pads that grip the rim with minimal contact. The design allows the cover to snap into place while still being easily removed for wheel-end inspections.
A Deflecktor video demonstrates the ease of installation and removal.
Deflecktor said that universal approach can simplify ordering and reduce inventory challenges for fleets operating mixed equipment.
The simplified design could make aerodynamic wheel covers more economically viable, not only for tractor drive wheels but also for trailers and medium-duty trucks.
The Hubbub Aero Wheel Cover is manufactured in Minnesota. The company said patents are pending.
