An economic “Mass Blackout” is planned on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to protest the Trump administration.
Black Friday is right around the corner.
While the big day for savings and deals, it can be kind of a toss-up between whether or not it’s business as usual or if an establishment is closed for the long weekend as it’s not a federal holiday, but it is a day many people take off.
If you’re looking to make a late trade on the stock market on Black Friday or do some business at a specific bank, you might have to wait until Cyber Monday, Dec. 1.
Here’s what you need to know about banks, post offices and shipping services and whether or not they will be open on Black Friday this year.
When is Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday is on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025.
Is the post office open on Black Friday? Will mail be delivered?
Normal mail service and post office hours will commence once again on Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, after being closed for Thanksgiving day, the United States Postal Service said.
“With more holidays just around the corner, customers are reminded that when Post Offices are closed, they can still access many postal products and services through the more than 2,600 self-service kiosks available in select lobbies nationwide,” the post service said.
Is the stock market open on Black Friday?
The New York Stock Exchange website said each market would have reduced trading hours for Friday, Nov. 28, closing at 1 p.m. Eastern Time or 1:15 p.m. ET for eligible options rather than the standard 4 p.m. market close.
Are banks open on Black Friday?
In general, most banks are open for Black Friday; however, there are some exceptions to this.
Citizens Bank said that their branches would be closed for the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, that being Black Friday.
Chase did not list Black Friday as one of the holidays they observe by closing their banks, this fact sheet said.
Bank of America did not list Black Friday, Nov. 28, as one of the holidays they close their financial centers for.
Are shipping services, like UPS and FedEx, open on Black Friday?
UPS said that their stores are going to be open on Nov. 28, Black Friday, providing pick up or delivery service on that day.
FedEx said that their standard service would have modified service in the form of “early on-call and drop box pickups available in some area” on Black Friday.
The shipping company also said that FedEx Freight would be closed but FedEx Office, FedEx Logistics, and FedEx Custom Critical would be open.
