The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has finalized the agenda for its annual Bridging Border Barriers meeting, taking place Nov. 19 in Mississauga, Ont. The event will focus on cross-border issues, regulatory updates, industry risks, and economic trends.
The day begins with a government affairs update from David Heller, TCA’s senior vice-president of safety and government affairs and safety, who will review current and upcoming federal regulations affecting the trucking industry in Canada and across the border – from hours-of-service and emissions standards to autonomous vehicle policy and infrastructure funding.
A panel discussion on TCA membership engagement will follow, with association’s president Jim Ward and speakers from Kriska Transportation Group, Bison Transport, and Lion Force.
Morning sessions also include a panel on cargo and equipment theft prevention and risk management featuring experts from ISB Global Service, Équité Association, and NorthBridge Insurance.
In the afternoon, one of the sessions will feature an economic update from TD Bank’s Arun Rebello, who will provide a financial outlook for carriers and suppliers.
Rebello will also participate in an executive panel featuring leaders from Eassons Transportation Group and Manac. They will discuss fleet operations, equipment manufacturing, and finance.
The day concludes with a cross-border and regulatory update session led by representatives from the Ontario Trucking Association and Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation, moderated by TCA’s Heller. Mark Seymour, CEO, Kriska Transportation Group will deliver closing remarks.
