Pittsburgh-based Pitt Ohio, which provides LTL transportation, warehouse and logistics services, announced it now offers next day shipping lanes to New England from three of its terminals.
Previously, standard shipping to New England from Cumberland and Baltimore, Maryland, and the greater Philadelphia area could take up to three days. With these new next-day lanes, customers in New England can now expect their freight to arrive in just 24 hours, significantly reducing wait times and exceeding expectations, according to a statement from Pitt Ohio.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to improve the customer experience, and faster delivery is a top priority,” said Geoff Muessig, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Pitt Ohio. “This expansion of next-day shipping lanes to New England for our customers in the Maryland and southeastern Pennsylvania markets delivers on our commitment to providing customers with the most convenient and efficient shipping options possible.”
Pitt Ohio is working with sister company Ross Express to make the deliveries.
“Ross Express and Pitt Ohio both have proven track records and the advanced logistics networks for consistent, on-time delivery,” said Steve Brown, Ross Express President. “We are excited to continue to provide reliable, next-day delivery to and from the New England states for Pitt Ohio customers.”
Pitt Ohio previously announced next-day lanes to and from New England from the following terminals: Harrisburg, Hazleton, and Allentown, Pennsylvania, East Windsor and Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Albany, Buffalo, Watertown, and Utica, New York.
FMCSA deputy administrator exits
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Deputy Administrator Earl Adams Jr. left the agency in late December. He had been in that position for less than a year.
Adams, who had served as FMCSA chief counsel since 2021, announced his exit on LinkedIn but did not say what his next job will be.
Adams. previously worked as chief of staff for former Maryland Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown. He was sworn in as the deputy administrator for the FMCSA on Feb. 27, 2023.
Adams earned a Juris Doctor degree from Boston College Law School, a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Morehouse College.
