SOMERVILLE, NJ — A Flemington mand was charged after police say he fatally hit a 72-year-old Somerville woman with his truck on Friday.
Andres Estaban Silva, 33, Hardscrabble Road, Flemington, was arrested and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident involving death on April 26, announced Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

On Friday at around 6:10 p.m., Somerville Police responded to the intersection of Somerset Street and Veterans Memorial Drive for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
An investigation found that Silva was driving a 2019 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck north on Veterans Memorial Drive making a left turn onto Somerset Street to go west when he hit Flor De Maria E. Huamani-Sanchez, 72, of Mountain Avenue in Somerville, said McDonald.
Following the crash Silva made a U-turn and left the scene eastbound on Veterans Memorial Drive, said McDonald.
A short time after the crash, Silva came back and parked his vehicle in a parking lot on Somerset Street near the crash site.
Huamani-Sanchez was taken to an area hospital with internal injuries and severe head trauma where she later died from her injuries that evening.
Silva was lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing by Somerville Police Department, the Somerset County Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team (C.A.R.T.) and the Major Crimes Unit.
