A 77-year-old woman was fatally struck by a construction truck driver in a Brooklyn intersection Monday morning, police said.
The driver of the truck, owned by CFC Construction Corp., was heading east on Avenue P in Midwood when he struck the woman crossing at E. 19th St. about 9:10 a.m., cops said.
The victim died at the scene. Her name was not immediately released.
After her body was removed, several Orthodox Jewish men were seen cleaning her blood from the street in keeping with religious tradition.
The 43-year-old driver remained at the scene and was questioned but not immediately charged.
A worker reached by phone at Brooklyn-based CFC Construction Corp. said he was not aware of the incident and that a supervisor was not immediately available for comment.
