A truck driver making a pit stop in Kentucky left the state with a big prize this month.Kentucky Lottery officials say that Tommy Hinton of Mississippi stopped for a break in Madisonville and decided to buy three scratch-off tickets while he was there.Hinton went ahead and scratched the tickets, revealing a $225,000 prize on one of them.”I was speechless. I kept thinking, ‘Oh no. No way. No way,'” he said.Hinton said he had a look on his face that prompted the cashier to ask if he needed an ambulance.”I said, no and then showed her the amount on the machine. Her eyes popped out and were big as saucers,” Hinton said.He called his family with the good news after leaving the store.”I called the wrong ones,” he said. “They’ve already spent it.”After taxes, Hinton took home $162,000. He told lottery officials he plans to pay off some bills, complete work around his home, and give to his church.”I plan to act like I don’t have it,” he said. “I’m blessed.”The Pilot Travel Center that sold the ticket will also receive $2,250 for selling the winning ticket.
