Truck Driver: Truck driver arrested for bikers’ death on KMP Expressway | Gurgaon News

Gurgaon: A 25-year-old truck driver was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of two bikers in an accident on KMP Expressway. Two bikers had died after crashing into a pileup of vehicles caused by a truck on KMP Expressway on Sunday.Prashant Narula, a resident of North Avenue Road in Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh and Parmeet Sood, a DLF 1 resident, were riding their BMW and Harley Davidson bikes, when they met with the accident on the expressway. Sood was the managing director of Climax Overseas, a Manesar-based company that manufactures automobile parts, while Narula was the director of Narula Udyog group, a firm specialising in medical devices.According to the police, the truck that was moving at a high speed suddenly applied brakes due to which an i20 and BMW rammed into it. The two bikers were very close behind and crashed into the pileup. They died on the spot, police said.A case was registered under sections 279 (rash driving), 304A (death in accident) and 427 (causing damage) of IPC at Bilaspur police station.Police spokesperson Subhash Boken said the accident was caused due to the sudden brake applied by the truck driver without any indication, which led to a pileup of vehicles including the truck, i20 and BMW cars, and BMM and Harley Davidson bikes. Police arrested truck driver Ajit (25), a resident of Lakha ka Nangal in Rajasthan. He was released on bail later.

The incident highlights the dangers of distracted driving and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic rules on the expressway.

Truck hits four vehicles, dumper two on Katraj-Dehu Road bypass

A truck and a dumper collided with multiple vehicles on the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass, causing injuries to four people. The truck hit an MSRTC bus, a car, a pick-up truck, and a dumper, which then collided with two cars. The dumper fell to the side, blocking one-and-a-half lanes of the bypass. The accident caused a two-hour standstill in Mumbai-bound traffic. The damaged vehicles were removed with the help of cranes from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
