Truck driver rapes woman who hitched ride, kills her 18-mn daughter

A truck driver from Rajasthan not only raped a city-based woman who hitched a ride with him but also threw the woman’s 1.5-year-old child out of the running vehicle and crushed the infant under its wheels. The Ahmedabad District Police have arrested Shravan Chauhan of Rajasthan for rape and murder after a car driver came to the rescue of the woman and chased the culprit. 

According to police sources, the 33-year-old resident of Narol had gone to Piplaj to clean her new rented house and was accompanied by her 1.5-year-old daughter. When she returned, it had turned dark and she took a ride from a truck driver who steered the vehicle to an isolated spot. He locked the doors of the cabin and demanded sexual intercourse from the woman. When she declined he threatened to kill her child and raped her. The driver then proceeded to rape the woman and later dropped the woman on the main road. When she urged him to give back her daughter, he threw the child out of the cabin and crushed her under the wheels.

The distraught woman screamed for help and a car driver stopped to help her. He then gave chase and caught the truck driver Shravan Chauhan. The driver was later handed over to the cops who booked him for rape and murder.
