OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – A truck driver was injured Tuesday, June 13, when his rig ran off of I-196 and went airborne before landing on 32nd Avenue in Hudsonville, sheriff’s deputies said.
The 58-year-old Ravenna man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
The crash, reported around 10:20 a.m., closed 32nd Avenue in both directions, police said.

The trucker was driving a 2011 Freightliner flat-bed truck, carrying two forklifts, west on I-196, approaching 32nd Avenue, when his rig left the road.
It traveled about 200 yards before it went airborne and landed on 32nd Avenue. The collision caused the forklifts to go airborne, too, and also land on 32nd Avenue, police said.
Bystanders helped the injured driver out of his truck. He was treated at the scene by Hudsonville firefighters and Life EMS Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to an area hospital. He was in stable condition, police said.
Police said 32nd Avenue was closed nearly three hours while the scene was cleaned up and road repairs were made. The Ottawa County Hazardous Materials & Technical Rescue Team responded for potential fluid leaks.
