One person was taken to the hospital for evaluation after a train collided with a truck near Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive and Hartford Road in Slinger on Saturday, Dec. 2, according to the Slinger Police Department.Police say they were dispatched with the Slinger Fire Department and Life Star Rescue around 1:13 p.m. Officers found a box-style delivery truck with heavy rear-end damage off the roadway on private property when they arrived. Officers found the delivery driver behind the wheel, appearing to be uninjured.Police say a firsthand witness reported that the truck drove around the active railroad crossing arms and was struck by the train. The crossing lights, swing arms and bells were all active and working properly.Police say the driver was taken to the hospital. The investigation determined that the driver was not impaired. It appeared to be an operator error on the driver. There was no fault on the CN Railroad. The delivery driver was cited.Police thanked the fire department, Life Star Rescue and CN and towing services for a quick response and efficient cleanup.
