A Tabor City, NC man has been charged with driving left
of center which reportedly caused Monday’s accident on County Line Road that
left three people – including a South Carolina Highway Patrolman – injured.
The accident happened at around 8:45 AM Monday on
County Line Road near Black Mingo Creek.
A Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office incident report
states an 18-wheeler driven by Bobby Cribb, the 62-year-old man from Tabor City,
was hauling an oversized load. The load projected over the center line as Cribb
drove southbound.
Another 18-wheeler was being driven northbound and
collided with Cribb’s truck, the report states. The northbound truck struck a
bridge guardrail and the hit an unmarked SC Highway Patrol vehicle being driven
by Trooper Matthew Lee Gosnell.
His car was T-boned by another vehicle.
Two people were transported to a hospital by ambulance
while Gosnell was transported to a trauma center by helicopter. Cribb was
uninjured.
The report states Gosnell suffered a broken leg/ankle
and a head laceration that caused a concussion.
The bridge at Black Mingo Creek was also damaged.
Cribb is scheduled to appear in court July 11.
