A tractor-trailer driver was seriously hurt Tuesday morning after a crash on Interstate 95 in Bridgeport, state police said.
CT State Police / Contributed /BRIDGEPORT — A driver was seriously injured in a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 95 early Tuesday, according to state police.
State police said the 23-year-old New York City man was driving a Mack truck headed toward Exit 29 on I-95 northbound at the time of the crash. He was transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment, state police said.
Based on preliminary investigation, the 23-year-old driver lost control negotiating a right curve in the road around 6 a.m. Tuesday “for an unknown reason,” according to state police. In a crash information summary, state police noted the highway was wet.
The truck, which had been traveling in the right lane, entered the right shoulder of the highway, colliding with the concrete barrier in the shoulder and ejecting the driver, according to state police. It then skidded across all four travel lanes and collided with the concrete barrier in the median.
