Panchkula: Two drivers were burnt to death in a fierce collision between a CNG truck and a truck carrying garbage in Raipur Rani at midnight. Both the trucks were completely damaged in the fire. The accident was so terrible that the road remained closed for several hours.After the head-on collision, both the drivers got stuck inside and did not get a chance to get out. The deceased were identified as Ramzan, a resident of Saharanpur, and Sadiq, a resident of Yamunanagar.According to the information, a fire broke out due to collision on National Highway 7 around 1am. The accident occurred near Golpura village on Panchkula-Yamunanagar national highway. Villagers informed the police about the crash. A police team reached the spot and with the help of fire brigade, the fire in the trucks was controlled. Mouli police post in-charge head constable Singhraj said both truck drivers Ramzan and Sadiq were burnt alive. According to the police, 50-year-old Ramzan was coming from Yamunanagar to Panchkula with waste, while the other truck driver Sadiq was going from Srinagar to Uttar Pradesh in a truck loaded with cherries. This truck was CNG.Due to NH-7 being one way near Golpura, both the trucks collided head-on. As soon as the collision took place, the CNG kit fitted in one of the trucks burst and there was an explosion. After this, the trucks caught fire, due to which the drivers of the trucks got trapped inside and were burnt alive. After a lot of hard work by four fire brigade vehicles, the fire in the trucks was brought under control.Singhraj said bodies of victims have been kept in the mortuary of civil hospital Sector 6 Panchkula. Due to the incident, there was a long jam on NH-7. After a lot of hard work, the police managed to streamline the traffic.
