Trimac has expanded in Southern California with the acquisition of Valley Bulk, which closed its doors last year.
Trimac says the deal expands its footprint in the California bulk market, by integrating Valley Bulk’s operations.

“The acquisition of Valley Bulk is a natural fit for Trimac, as both companies share core values of family, safety and service,” said Trimac president and CEO Matt Faure. “By combining our strengths and aligning our cultures, we are better positioned to serve our customers with even greater efficiency and reliability. We look forward to the valuable contributions Valley Bulk’s team will bring to the Trimac family.”
Valley Bulk provides dry bulk transport services across Southern and Central California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. It was founded in 1995 by Jim Golson and his son Jeff Golson, who grew the fleet to more than 50 trucks and 90 trailers.
“Joining forces with Trimac is a significant step forward for Valley Bulk,” said Jeff Golson, president of Valley Bulk. “This partnership not only honors the legacy we’ve built but also ensures that our growth will continue under the Double Eagle brand. By aligning with Trimac’s values of family, safety and service, we are confident that our team and customers will benefit greatly from this exciting new chapter.”
Valley Bulk hauls materials including cement, fly ash, aggregates and non-hazardous liquids using a variety of trailers including pneumatics and curtainside flatbeds. It operates under the nearby Double Eagle Transportation brand, which together form one of the largest dry bulk carriers in California, Trimac said in a release.
Ryan Golson, third-generation leader in the family’s trucking businesses, will remain on under Trimac’s ownership.
