HAMDEN, Conn. — A tow truck driver assisting a parked vehicle fell 25 feet off the overpass on Route 15 North in Hamden after a car crashed into the tow scene, causing a chain reaction.
The tow truck with its emergency lights on was parked on the right shoulder of Route 15 North near Exit 60 around 7:45 p.m. Friday to tow a Nissan Altima. A Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the right lane veered right to avoid another vehicle slowing down for traffic and ended up striking the Nissan. The collision pushed the Nissan onto the tow truck’s flatbed, state police said.
