The Bengaluru police arrested the driver of a tipper truck after he drove down a one way street in the early hours of Tuesday in east Bengaluru and killed two 19-year-old hotel workers who were returning home. A case of culpable homicide has been booked against the driver.
The incident happened near the Pottery Road railway bridge at the junction of MM Road and Lazar Road under Pulakeshi Nagar traffic police limits at around 2 am. The deceased — Yusuf Khan and Paresh — were riding a two-wheeler when they were caught unawares by the truck which was moving on the one-way road.
The driver of the tipper truck, Sunil Babu Rathod, 23, has been booked under Section 304 (culpable homicide) of the IPC which entails punishment of a life term in prison or up to 10 years in prison.

“The driver has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody,” DCP Traffic (East) Kala Krishnaswamy said in a statement.
