Colorado State Patrol said the driver of an SUV was trying to pass traffic when she crashed into a semi-truck.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — One person was killed Friday in a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in Douglas County.
The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) said troopers responded to Highway 83 and Arfsten Road southeast of Larkspur at 3:51 p.m. on a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a Toyota SUV and a semi-truck.
CSP said the person driving the SUV was trying to pass traffic in an area that was striped for no passing when the SUV crashed into the semi-truck head-on.
The SUV driver died at the scene, CSP said. The truck driver was not hurt.
Highway 83 was closed for several hours. It reopened at around 8:20 p.m.
