The McLean County coroner says a North Carolina man was killed in a semi tractor-trailer crash south of Bloomington on Wednesday night.
Coroner Kathy Yoder said in a news release that Willie Broner, 52, of Dallas, North Carolina, was driving the semi that ran off the road and crashed on southbound U.S. 51 at eastbound Interstate 74 in Bloomington Township at about 7:31 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved.
Yoder said Broner died of multiple blunt force injuries. Toxicology tests are pending.
The crash remains under investigation by the McLean County coroner’s office and Illinois State Police.
