Brenham, Tx (FOX44) – A 42-year-old truck driver accused of intentionally driving an 18-wheeler into a Department of Public Safety Driver License Office has now been charged with murder.
Clenard K Parker of Chapel Hill has been held in the Washington County Jail since being removed from the cab of the truck April 12.
The additional charge of felony murder was filed in connection with the death of 78-year-old Bobby Huff who was one of several people injured when the truck slammed into the building in Brenham. Huff had been airlifted to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan where he died.
In addition, parker is facing chares of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, evading arrest or detention and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Two other victims remained in critical but stable condition Thursday.
The Brenham Driver License Office will remain closed for an undetermined amount of time. Alternative offices are located in Bryan, Hempstead, and Caldwell. Customers with scheduled appointments at the Brenham Office will be contacted by the DPS Driver License Division.
