Mr. Morris Lee “Snake” Evans of Warrenton, GA was born on December 26, 1955, in Warrenton, GA to the late Mr. Judge Evans, Jr. and the Mrs. Ruthie Mae Torrence Evans. God called him from labor to rest peacefully on June 2, 2023, in the presence of his wife and family members at Piedmont-McDuffie hospital in Thomson, GA.

Morris, three of nine children, gave his life at an early age to Christ and joined Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Warrenton, GA. He was an alumnus of the Warren County High School Class of 1974. He joined the United States Army in 1975 and served proudly for over 21 years until he retired on May 31, 1997. Morris obtained his commercial driver’s license (CDL) and became a proud self-employed Owner/Operator of his own trucking business for over 23 years until he fully retired in 2020.
Morris was joined in holy matrimony with Burnestene Jackson on June 23, 2006. Their union was blessed with 16 years of laughter, joy, peace, fun-filled memories with their fur babies, and lots of love.
Morris, well known by family members and friends as “Snake.” He was a humble, loving, and dedicated son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. In his leisure time he enjoyed mowing the lawn, playing with his fur babies, watching cartoons, grilling/eating fish, playing baseball, traveling, watching sports, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family members especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, our beloved Morris Lee Evans “Snake” was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgia Nunnally and Priscilla Delvallie; three brothers, Judge Warren Evans, Norman Evans and William Evans. He leaves to cherish his contagious smile and fondest memories: a loving and devoted wife of 16 years, Burnestene Evans; a loving and devoted daughter, Angel (Rolando) Denson; three bonus children, Kell Maxwell, Elisha Bowens and Larry (Mena) Reese; three loving and devoted grandchildren, Jammorrious (Maiya) Williams, Mekayla Williams and Ryan Denson; three bonus grandchildren, Monta Bowen, Angel Bowen and Jasmine Miller; one great-grandchild, Rian Noelle Neal; three sisters, Marie Evans, Geraldine (Willie) Norman and Madeline Evans; seven sisters-in-law/brothers-in-law, Dorethea Hamilton, Leeann Tolbert, Laurine (Willie) Jones, Sandra (Freddy) Ivey, Elder James (Darlene) Jackson, Norriston Delvallie and Ted Nunnally; five aunts, Jessie Moore, Rebie Fitzgerald, Edith Amerson, Sunbeam Wilson and Mary Thomas; one great-aunt, Corene Watson; three god-children, Key’Mia Kendrick, Key’Mori Kendrick and Key’Moni Kendrick; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and classmates.
