LOGANTON — There is nothing quite like a wintertime festival to get you truly in the holiday spirit. Where this feeling could come to life for you is in the center of town on festive East Main Street in Loganton.
Experience the holiday magic at this second annual community event for the family on Sunday, Nov. 26, from 3-6 p.m., sponsored by the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School.
Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus are arriving in town in the local Sugar Valley Community Fire Truck around 3 p.m. Both will be greeting youngsters in Santa’s Hut until the traditional tree-lighting ceremony at dusk, around 5 p.m., in the park located by the bank.
The event will also feature live reindeer. You can enjoy the Loganton Borough streetlights, partake in selecting the borough’s house decorating contest winner, card making for senior citizens and service men/women, letter writing to Santa and placing in Santa’s mailbox, crafts, balloons, etc.
Weather permitting, you could snuggle up with your loved one on a horse-drawn sleigh ride or a horse-drawn wagon ride.
WinterFest could also add a little spice to your life. Organizations will be serving up delightful treats like hot apple cider, hot cocoa, coffee, cookies, donuts, hot dogs, soup, popcorn and more!
Begin and end your afternoon holiday experience on a high note while listening to the Sugar Valley Community Band from 3-4 p.m., the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School Band from 4-4:30 p.m., and the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School Chorus from 4:30-5 p.m.
At 5 p.m., baton twirlers will present an awesome Fire Baton Twirling performance.
In a nutshell, the festival is all about spreading holiday cheer, gathering the community together, embracing old friendships, creating new friendships and having a jolly good time. So, head down to WinterFest in Loganton and experience a festive adventure.
