A Levittown man was injured in fatal crash on the 202 Parkway in Montgomery Township, Montgomery County, according local news outlet WissNow.com.
Police were dispatched to the intersection with Horsham Road at 11:27 a.m. on Monday for a report of a vehicle collision involving an SUV and a commercial truck, with one person being ejected from their vehicle and another being trapped inside.
Arriving police located a collision between a 2016 Toyota Rav4 and a red 2021 Peterbilt four-car hauler, along with an overturned 2006 Ford Mustang that had fallen off the Peterbilt.
According to Montgomery Township Police Chief Scott Bendig, the preliminary investigation revealed the Peterbilt was traveling northbound on the 202 Parkway when the southbound Toyota crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck the driver’s-side front corner of the Peterbilt in a head-on collision.
The driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old woman from King of Prussia, was ejected from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, an 86-year-old woman from Ambler, was also declared deceased after being extricated by firefighters, authorities said.
The driver of the Peterbilt, a 44-year-old man from Levittown, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Grand View Hospital.
The 202 Parkway was closed in both directions until 7:52 p.m. as crews worked to process and clear the scene.
Montgomery Township Police were assisted by units from the North Penn Crash Team, Fire Department of Montgomery Township, Warrington Fire Company, North Penn Fire Company, Colmar Fire Company, and VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
