Family members are mourning the loss of a 16-year-old who was killed in a hit-and-run crash last week on Interstate 29. Alexander Robinson was identified as the individual killed last week on NW 72nd Street and I-29. Police say around 9:30 p.m. on June 14, just past the bridge that crosses over NW 72nd Street, the teenager was walking in a construction zone along southbound I-29 when they were struck. The driver of the truck did not stop and left the scene.The teen was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The department has not yet released the victim’s name.Police have not released any additional information about the semi-truck driver involved in the crash. KCPD says its investigation is ongoing.A Meal Train has been set up to help family members.
