At the upcoming Brisbane Truck Show the Iveco stand will have a wide mix of models on display, with electric, off road and a ToYA contender all on display.
The electric option will be the first alternative power Iveco Daily to be seen in Australia. In developing and rolling out the eDaily range in Australia, Iveco has partnered with several leading tertiary institutions, Government departments and private enterprise, to assist with training, tooling and to explore recharging opportunities.
The company will also call on the expertise of its local engineering department, who will play a major role in validating the new range using facilities within its Customer and Innovation Centre (CIC).
In other markets, the eDaily range is available in several van and cab chassis variants and with one, two or three batteries depending on configuration, with combined battery capacities of up to 111kWh producing power and torque of up to 140kW and 400Nm.
The show vehicle is a 70C cab chassis with 4350mm wheelbase, 7.2t GVM and three batteries; it is one of several models that will be tested locally in preparation for roll-out of the broader eDaily line-up.
Multiple charging options are available for eDaily including standard onboard 11kW AC charger, optional 22kW on-board AC charger, or up to an 80kW DC fast charger. Depending on battery options, full charge times of between three and nine hours can be reached using the on-board chargers, and more than 80 per cent charge can be achieved in under 1.5 hours using DC fast charging.
The loaded drive range for local IVECO eDaily models will be up to 300 kilometres, amongst the highest of any electric light truck or large van available.
Following the launch of the, contender for Truck of the Year Australasia, S-Way models in Australia, the Brisbane Truck Show will herald the arrival of the off road version of the new models, the new T-Way, which has been developed for the toughest off-road applications.
Representing the S-Way at the show in the model’s first official public appearance will be two prime mover models, an AS (Active Space) 550 and AT (Active Time) 460. These will be featuring advanced, Cursor Euro6 (Step E) engines, Hi-Tronix (ZF Traxon) AMT and the latest active safety systems.
The T-Way model range is being launched at the show replacing the previous Trakker range.
T-Way is available in 4×4, 6×6 and 8×4 configurations and shares many innovations and technology advancements featured in S-Way, including Euro6 (Step E) engines, Hi-Tronix transmissions and safety equipment such as Electronic Braking System (EBS), ABS and ASR (Anti-Skid Regulator) and Hill Holder.
The display vehicle is a 4×4 variant twith off-road systems including full-time 4×4, hub reduction to all axles and front, centre and rear differential locks to provide traction in slippery conditions. A two-speed transfer case also delivers tractability in low range, allowing T-Way to overcome steep ascents and descents.
