The Northampton County Coroner’s Office identified a motorist killed in a crash involving a dump truck Tuesday morning in Lehigh Township.
Lincoln P. Brown, 52, of Selinsgrove in Pennsylvania’s Snyder County died from his injuries in the crash, Coroner Zachary Lysek said. The death was ruled an accident.
Brown was the driver of the tri-axle dump truck involved in the crash, Lysek said. Brown was driving south along Route 145 when the crash occurred, according to the coroner.
A county 911 dispatch supervisor earlier Tuesday confirmed the crash occurred just after 6:30 a.m. at Mulberry Drive, just south of Walnutport, and also involved a passenger vehicle.
Additional details on the crash were not immediately available, including whether anyone else was injured.
Authorities closed Route 145 for the crash response and investigation. It was reopened about 11:40 a.m., an emergency radio broadcast indicated.
The crash was one of three incidents in which motorists died between Monday and Tuesday mornings in the Lehigh Valley region.
About 8:30 a.m. Monday, Valdaishi Simpkins, 27, of Irvington, New Jersey, was near her disabled vehicle along the right shoulder of Interstate 80 in Hardwick Township, Warren County, when an eastbound tractor-trailer entered the shoulder, struck and fatally injured her, according to New Jersey State Police.
A 15-year-old pedestrian identified as Emmanuel Gboyah, of Allentown, was struck by a vehicle and killed about 8:30 p.m. Monday at MacArthur Road (Route 145) and Mickley Road in Whitehall Township, authorities said.
