Single-vehicle crash Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Willis Street ramp to highway
A male driver was killed in Kent after his dump truck went out of control and crashed on the ramp from Willis Street (State Route 516) to northbound State Route 167.
The crash was just after noon Wednesday, Sept. 6, according to a phone interview with Trooper Rick Johnson of the Washington State Patrol. No other vehicles were involved and the truck had just one occupant.
The truck might have lost a tire, Johnson said about a potential cause after a prelimary investigation. He said that the cause has not been confirmed as the State Patrol’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers continue to investigate the crash.
Johnson said the truck was hauling mud. Much of the mud spilled onto the ramp. Troopers closed the ramp for the crash investigation and the removal of the truck and mud.
Johnson did not have an age or hometown of the driver. The State Patrol plans to release more information after the crash site is cleared.
