The Montana Trucking Association held its annual Truck Driving Championship on June 8 at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.
Those entering the competition had to be accident-free in the past year, pass a written test and do a pre-trip inspection in less than eight minutes.
They had to also drive the course in less than eight minutes.
There were 38 drivers who competed at the fairgrounds in Helena in front of dozens of spectators, organizers said.
Lyle Turville of Great Falls, the grand prize winner, will advance to the nationals in Indianapolis on Aug. 21-24.

After the competition, there was an awards banquet for all the drivers and families.
