The Rumpke community is mourning the loss of one of its drivers, who was found dead in his truck on Monday. According to police, CPD’s Criminal Investigations Section responded to the 7100 block of Eastlawn Drive for a death investigation on Monday morning. Arriving officers located a driver inside a Rumpke truck suffering from a gunshot wound. Cincinnati Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and determined the victim to be deceased.The driver has been identified by police as Angel Flores, 30.Officials said the investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing.”We still don’t have answers. It’s still an ongoing investigation,” Molly Yeager with Rumpke Communications said Tuesday. Yeager said the drivers are very close and when one of them is hurting, they all are.”So yesterday was very hard news for everybody to take in. And today is even harder,” Yeager said.She said Flores was known as a hard worker who was always willing to lend a hand to others.”Great family man, always speaking very highly of his kids and his wife and just, you know, they said he’s just a great guy,” Yeager said.Yeager said they are working to help Cincinnati police as much as possible.”Hopefully, we have some answers today,” she said.When asked if anything like this has happened in the past, Yeager said they have never had an incident like this before. “This is definitely a new territory for us,” she said.Yeager said an incident like this makes their jobs not just harder but even more scary.”If this was just like a bad place at the wrong time, that’s terrifying for anybody,” she said.Yeager said right now, they’re thinking of the Flores family as the investigation continues.”You know, it’s terrifying that he was out doing his job. He was servicing his customers. And unfortunately, some tragic event happened that hopefully, we’ll know soon what happened,” she said.
