The B.C. Trucking Association (BCTA) says the first year of the Clean Carrier Program it administers demonstrated a 35-41% reduction in fuel consumption and related emissions for participants.
The program collected data that showed fuel savings from companies that participated in the program, which helps cover the cost of emissions-reducing practices and technologies.

“Seeing these results reinforces the Clean Carrier Program’s role in supporting carriers that are ready to take meaningful steps toward environmental stewardship,” said Dave Earle, BCTA president and CEO. “By providing carriers with the support they need to help reduce their environmental impact, the program not only helps improve business operations but also contributes to B.C.’s climate goals. We’re thrilled to see carriers embracing these changes and making substantial progress within the first year.”
Participating carriers also enjoyed operational cost savings, the BCTA notes.
“As the program enters its second year, BCTA remains committed to providing continued support through data analysis, best practice guidance, and advocacy for sustainable practices,” the association said in a release.
